fall is here.

as the first signs of fall are finally showing up, i am getting more and more excited for the holiday season. this is one of my favorite times of year. i love fall and all of the things that come with it (i think my favorite part is that we are getting closer to christmas). here are a few decorations from our home that i thought i would share. i LOVE decorating for different seasons. i think if i wasn't a teacher, i might be a "holiday decorator", is that a job? :) i hope you have a happy fall!!

sorry some of the pictures are a little blurry...enjoy!

i made this fun wall thing. if you are interested in one, let me know and i can make you one.

remodeling.

one of the things i have been doing lately is "remodeling" family heirlooms into something that is fashionable and wearable now. i love taking old pieces and making them new.  family jewelry is special and one of a kind. let me know if you have some jewelry that needs some remodeling.  these items are not for sale.  just some examples of what i have done with those unique vintage pieces.

this is one of my favorite necklaces.  the butterfly used to be my great grandmother's clip on earring. i turned it into a necklace that i can actually wear now.  the clip on earrings were just not quite as fashionable. :)

this piece was made for my community group leader.  she had an old locket that belonged to her mother. inside the locket is a picture of her grandmother. what a special piece of jewelry. i added a really neat leaf clasp to this one.

i am still here.

in my last blog i said that it might be a month before i blogged again. i was wrong, it has been two months. my creative juices have been completely thrown into school the last two months.  i have had a great start to my second year of teaching. i thought i would share a couple funny quotes from my little chillins this year....i am sure there will be more to come:

one girl said to me that she can bus-to-move (bust a move) better than anyone she knows.
several of my students always ask me for a "seed" of paper instead of a sheet of paper.
aaaand my favorite..... a sweet little boy came up to me after lunch and said his stomach was hurting.  i told him to just sit and class and see if it gets better.  after about fifteen minutes he comes up to me and tells me that he figured out the problem: he had some gas.  he referred to it as pollution in his belly and it was a warning sign to everyone sitting around him.
i LOVE my kids.

so, this (somewhat) fallish weather has me dying to be creative again. so here are some recent attempts. if you are interested in buying any jewelry, leave a comment or e-mail me at mallory29@gmail.com.
spread the word if you like. Also, most pieces from my previous posts are still available!

summer, dont end!

Well, my summer is officially coming to an end! Things I am going to miss: sleeping in a little later, drinking my morning coffee while having my extra long quiet time, spending time with my hubby, visiting family, occasional trips to Red Mango, laying out, and just having "me time".  Buuut, I am looking forward to several things: meeting my precious new kids, seeing all my friends at work, and, being a teacher again! I do love my job!

Okay, so here is some more jewelry, possibly the last for the next month. :) If you would like anything leave a comment or e-mail me at mallory29@gmail.com
Enjoy!

summer love.

One reason I absolutely love summer is because of all the free time I have.  I have been able to read, study, and be creative.  One thing I have really enjoyed making is jewelry.  My Grandmother and Maw Maw both gave me some of their costume jewelry to use! I love antique stuff! I am also loving wearing jewelry that both of my grandmothers wore! It has been so fun!

Check it out and if you are interested in buying any of them, let me know!
